| Scott - I don't agree with the idea for a "thicker" device. Thinner is more easily pocketed - to wit, the Toshiba e740 and the Casio E-11x series. |
Well, I guess it's a matter of preference, but I personally would prefer a shorter, yet thicker, device over a longer, but thinner, device. The devices you mentioned are thick and fairly long. I'm talking about something along the lines of a Sony UX-series or the original Tungsten T (or T2).

| I wouldn't carry my Zodiac in my pants pocket -- it's too long to do so comfortably. But I've never every-day-carried any PDA on my person (aside from a Blackberry, which being on the belt is not as obtrusive.) |

I probably would continue to carry my Treo in my pocket, and take the Zodiac in my backpack or jacket pocket whenever I go somewhere where I anticipate I'll use it (travel, train to work, boring meeting, ...).

| That's what a manbag is for.... I have an Eddie Bauer one for my extra crap. Despite seeing more and more men carrying them, I still don't know why men are reluctant to use one. Between keys, eyedrops, pdas, cellphone, pager, etc. you either drop stuff, or look a right git with all your crap dragging your pants down. |

I don't think I can do the man-bag thing. I just can't do it.
I know what you mean about dragging your pants down, though. Today I went to work with my Treo 300, iPaq 3630, and a checkbook in my left pants pocket. Very bulky and quite uncomfortable.
My plan is to start carrying my cellphone on my hip, though I probably won't start until I decide for sure what cell phone I'm going to have (as I don't want to pay for a custom cell phone case for my Treo 300 when I probably won't end up keeping it). Then, I'll just need to carry one PDA in my pocket, which should be manageable.

Do it. Be a man. You'll be hip with the ladies, and won't look like a geek with overstuffed pants (even cargo pants) or belt droppiness.
Back to topic - I bought a Treo 600. Would be nice if Sprint had bluetooth phones so I could wirelessly get on the Interweb with a Zodiac.
Scott - as of late, you seem less impressed with the Zodiac. Why the change? Or are you just jaded? |

Besides, I never care what people think I'll walk around with cargo shorts stuffed with my casio e125, handera 330, gba, book, cd or 2 etc |

I got a Sprint Treo 600, too. Forget about bluetooth -- it would be nice if Sprint/Handspring could get the data service to work on it, which is why people buy this $400-$500 device. But that's another (frustrating) story for another Bulletin Board.

I really like the Nokia 3650, even though it's kind of big. The pluses of it are that it runs Series 60 (based on the Symbian OS), so I'd get to play with that, and it also has a pretty decent built-in camera. The downside is that GPRS is slower than Sprint's data network and T-Mobile doesn't have great coverage in my area (and Cingular and AT&T have lousy data plan prices).

I'm always jaded. I've been thinking of setting my avatar to "Mikey" from the old Life cerial commercials ("He hates everything").
Seriously, the ideal device(s) for me would allow me to browse and update my sites remotely in a minimum amount of travel size. Everything out there currently has major drawbacks. Some of the drawbacks of the Zodiac are the fault of the Palm OS and/or lack of 3rd party solutions, both of which I would expect to be resolved within the next six months or so. Specifically, I'm talking about a tabbed web browser, multitasking, and photo editor that allows simple cropping and resizing. Those apps/capabilities are available on the PPC OS, but that platform has all sorts of troubles of its own.
I'm definitely still excited about the Zodiac, though. Like I said, I just have a knack for finding fault with everything.
